As fall begins to gain momentum, so does excitement for the next SheTalks event: SheTalks Technology.

Taking place Nov. 5, the inspirational day again features 16 speakers, each taking to the mic for just eight minutes to share their diverse stories.

One of the women in the spotlight will be Lois Nahirney, president and CEO of dnaPower and SkinDNA Inc. Her identical adopted Vietnamese twins – one of whom is transgender – led to a fascination with DNA and her dream is for people to be able to use knowledge about their specific gene composition to make proactive personal health decisions. Nahirney is also a tireless advocate for education and equity for women, girls and diverse genders.

Attendees will also hear from Sharan Sumal, who brings a unique perspective to her work with Daily Hive, Western Canada's largest online-only media publication (formerly Vancity Buzz). Her background in psychology and criminology and time spent working in the mental health and addictions field have given her a strong understanding of human behaviour and vast knowledge in growing a successful business.

Kylie Toh, founder of the non-profit organization Chic Geek, will also be sharing her journey of inspiring confidence in women and leading by example. For Toh, it's all about mentoring and encouraging women to become makers, builders and creators that leverage technology to change the world – which she has done through the 100+ workshops, talks, programs and conferences she's helped coordinate.

This trio of extraordinary women is just a small sample of the string of innovative thinkers and bright minds and who will share their perspectives and tell their tales.

"SheTalks Tech promises to be an event that will not only stimulate your mind, but your heart as well," said SheTalks co-founder Barinder Rasode. "Young or old, female or male, it's a day of passion and inspiration that simply should not be missed."

SheTalks Tech takes place Nov. 5, 2016 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Telus Innovation Centre, 510 Georgia St. in Vancouver. For tickets, visit shetalks.life. Everyone welcome!
