Dr. Jen Marchbank
When Jen moved to Canada in 2005 with her 5 year old son, she knew no one here, friends told her she was brave, she thought she might just be stupid! She deliberately landed in Surrey to work at SFU Surrey campus and really loves this city.

Since her arrival Jen has married (that wasn't planned); gained a daughter and become deeply involved in community work which includes 2 stints as President of the Surrey Pride Society. Her main passion though is youth and with her wife Sylvie, she founded Youth for A Change in 2012. This group of young LGBTQ+ activists, advocates and educators meets weekly and works all over the GVA. She hopes that one day she will make herself redundant as the youth, who are already leaders, will no longer need her.
