Charis Lippett

Charis is a British international grad student in the department of Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies at SFU, currently advising on the Sexual Violence and Misconduct Policy soon to be implemented at the University. Having grown up in the Middle East, Far East Asia, East Africa and Mainland Europe, Charis was raised amongst a myriad of cultures, languages, and faiths that sparked her avid interest in the profound ways in which victims of sexual violence and abuse persist in rebuilding themselves in the face of intense, personal trauma and devastation.

As an artist and published author, Charis’s work is a constant investigation into what drives the individual to restore themself after abuse, and how that restoration is carried out in ways that often defy socially acceptable modes of healing.

She also really loves cats. Like, a lot.
